5-a-side football tournament Soccerworld
The skills of over 140 footballers were showcased on Sunday at SoccerWorld as they competed to lift the first ever Cash for Kids 5 a-side tournament cup. Teams from all over Tayside entered the competition and were joined by a Radio Tay squad and an extra special Tay Legends team, coached by Dundee Manager, Jocky Scott.

Players showed determination through the qualifying rounds and the semis saw FC Polonia v The SFA and Burrelton Wanderers v FC Armadillo putting on an impressive show in two very competitive matches.
The final was a close game between FC Polonia and Burrelton Wanderers with only one goal separating the teams at full time and FC Polonia lifting the Cash for Kids cup with a 2-1 victory.
The Legends team boasted former
Jocky Scott presented the cup to winners FC Polonia and medals to the runners-up. To the delight of spectators, the Legends then played a finale match against FC Polonia to finish off the day.
Cash for Kids Co-ordinator, Lynda Curran, said “We are thrilled with today’s event. The support received has been fantastic and I would like to give special thanks to John Reilly for organising the Legends Team, Gwyn Rees at Trophy World for the cup and medals, the Dundee Tangerine Cheerleaders for their display and, of course, to SoccerWorld for making the day possible.”
