Scott Mill from Coupar Angus (formerly Tayport, Fife) was only 29 years old when he died in a road traffic accident in 2012.
Scott was a loving husband, a doting father to his two young daughters and valued family life. He had recently started ‘bagging munros’ with his work colleagues, friends and father-in-law and enjoyed everything this involved.
To honour Scott’s memory, his family launched a sponsored challenge in aid of Cash for Kids last year. The Scott Mill Memorial Munro Challenge is to walk Mount Keen (939m mountain and the most easterly munro) on Saturday 2nd August 2014 (what would have been Scott’s 31st Birthday).
The challenge will start at the car park in Glen Esk, just outside Edzell, at 7.30am on Saturday 2nd August 2014. Scott’s family would welcome anyone who is interested in this to come along, enjoy a great day and help the children in our local area – a cause very much supported by Scott.
To register, you can contact Keith Mill on 07717 214087 or message to email@example.com. Alternatively, give Lynda or Alison at Cash for Kids a call on 01382 200800.
Depending on ability/weather conditions, it is estimated that the walk will take between 3 and 5 hours.
Please ensure you bring the following with you:
• Suitable footwear
• Waterproof/warm clothing
• Plenty of Water and a Packed Lunch
A BBQ and Prize Raffle will be held from 2 p.m. til late at Cobbie’s Inn, Tayport where Keith and family invite you to join them in celebrating this special day in memory of Scott.
You can set up your own fundraising page here www.everydayhero.co.uk/event/MunroChallenge-2014 - then send the link to as many of your friends, family & workmates as possible to let them know you are taking part. We're sure they'll be more than happy to support such a special challenge!
